Comal, Bexar, Hays, Blanco, and Kendall counties including the cities of Canyon lake, New Braunfels, Bulverde, Spring Branch, Garden Ridge, Schertz, and Cibolo

Our Agents
Cynthia J. "Cindy" Braune is the daughter of Dub and Margaret Janowski. After her mother
passed away September 2004 Cindy came to work with her father to help out with the family business.
After much encouragement from her father Cindy received her Property and Casualty License and
shortly thereafter also attained her Life and Health License. Cindy took the helm of the business
in April 2006 so her father could retire as Agent of Record for the Agency. Although retired, her
father remains with the office on a consultant basis as a source of knowledge and support for her.
Prior to coming to work with Canyon Lake Insurance Agency, Inc., she was employed for just over
three years with The Scooter Store as a Mobility Consultant and before that she has fifteen years
in the accounting field as well as three years in the Records Management field. Although her most
recent endeavors were not in the Insurance industry she had previously worked with her parents from
1983 to 1984 and then again helped her parents run their office from 1985 to 1987.
Darryl R Braune has been with Canyon Lake Insurance Agency, Inc. since February 2006. Darryl
comes from a background of over 20 years experience in the Water/wastewater Industry. He previously
was an Environment Technician for the City of Austin and prior to that had worked with the City of
San Marcos as well as a Lab technician in the water lab of the New Braunfels Utilities. He has joined
his wife Cindy in the operations of the Agency and will embark on obtaining his licensing in the near
future. Until then he is managing the office, conducting inspections and aiding to the growth of the agency.
Clarence "Dub" Janowski founder and controlling stock holder of Canyon Lake Insurance Agency, Inc.
has over 54 years experience in the Insurance industry. He and his wife Margaret began operation of
the current business with Germania Farm Mutual of Brenham, TX, writing the first policy Oct. 1978 and
chartering the business as Chapter 55 of Germania Farm Mutual in April 1979.
The business has continued in its present location at the corner of Rockmoor and FM 2673 at
Canyon Lake, which is now also the Village Business Center, another endeavor of the Janowski's.
Besides Chapter 55, of Germania, in 1980 when Germania initiated the Germania Insurance Companies
the trade style of Canyon Lake Insurance Agency was accepted.
Mr. Janowski's insurance experience began in January 1951 while in the U.S. Air Force as a pay
clerk, servicing the insurance needs of new Air Force recruits. After leaving the Air Force in
January 1955 he began a career of over 20 years dealing with insurance investigations on all types
of insurance and employment situations where he gained the vast knowledge of insurance in general.
After this between 1974 until 1978 he continued writing and servicing life insurance through
Lutheran Mutual, Order of the Sons of Hermann, and several other side line life insurance companies
which brought him to his current endeavor. While with these various companies he has become a top
producer and servicing agent in all areas of the insurance business.
Although he accepted retirement from Germania Farm Mutual in April 2006, he continues with Canyon
Lake Insurance Agency, Inc, as an advisor and consultant and source of support for his daughter and son-in-law.
